New Orelans Trip!
Our trip was a success. We managed to take a quick romantic trip and get some much needed relaxation. The French Quarter was packed with people the whole weekend, which made it harder to do some things, but we still had a good time.

One of our favorite things was sitting by the Mississippi River listening to a musician play some music. It is amazing how therapeutic listening and watching the water can be. One day we'll have to get a beach house or something so we can have these getaways more often.

Not sure if it was all the delicious food, but here is a great belly picture of me at 29 weeks!

Jackson square was beautiful. It really made us feel like we had left the country. New Orleans has so many characteristics of the Spanish and French that we imagined we were in Paris or Mexico City again.

Here we are at dinner

Shawn even got to see some artillery. That made his day!

It was soooo cold!

Luckily I got some chocolat chaud at Cafe du monde to warm me up. Shawn had whiskey.

Then we ventured to Bourbon street. Here is a video of some of the shenanigans we got into. I never thought I'd play with a Zydeco band. Go figure. That is me playing the washboard!
We had a blast on our trip. Only one thing was missing....Tyson. He spent the weekend with his "gammies" aka my mom. I can't wait to see him tomorrow when I go to CSTX. Shawn will be joining us on Christmas Eve!

28 Weeks
Good morning everyone! I took 1/2 a day today and I went to the doctor this morning. Everything is still looking right on track.
No pictures today, but here are the baby updates:
All of our furniture and bedding is in. We are hoping to get working on it in January. We wanted it done BY January at first, but with the holidays and hunting season that is not going to happen. We are not doing much, but we want to add a chair rail and repaint the room.
No pictures today, but here are the baby updates:
- 1-hour glucose test came back fine
- No anemia
- Baby Terral's heart rate was 135 BPM- which is normal for him
- Dr. Cantu was able to feel him and says he is breech right now. This makes total sense because I feel his little legs kicking in my lower abdomen. She helped me to feel his head kind of under my ribcage.
- Gained another 5 pounds - I thought it would have been more because I have been eating everything!
- Next ultrasound (3D/4D) on Dec. 29
- Childbirth Education classes will probably be in January. I figure the sooner the better. You never know!!

"Fa Lalalala Lalalala"
Tis the season to be jolly so it is about time I posted a picture of our lovely tree, and of course my expanding waistline. This week marks the 26 week milestone. I am at the end of my 6th month!! I cannot believe it.
Our son has been really active lately. Shawn can see him squirm in my belly sometimes. I think it is so cool to feel him moving. I get anxious when I am not feeling him, so I look forward to doctors appointments to make sure everything is okay.
I have an appointment in 2 weeks and I have scheduled and extra (a.k.a. insurance doesn't pay) ultrasound for the week after X-mas. I hope we can get a glimpse of his face to see if he favors mommy or daddy. People say the 3/D pictures can look freaky, so we'll see.
School is winding down, kids are busy testing. I swear I don't remember all this stress that kids today are dealing with. I hope you guys are all doing well. Shawn update: he is still working constantly. When he is not working he is talking guns and hunting! He hasn't had much luck this season, but we are hoping that that will change this December. Wish him luck

24 weeks
Howdy everyone! We just got back from a delicious dinner at Chili's. Baby was in the mood for Chicken Fried Steak and mashed potatoes....yummy! We are excited that we have decided and ordered our nursery furniture and bedding. NO THEME! I get that question all the time. We are not into themes, but our color scheme is baby/aqua blue, beige, brown with plaids, stripes and polka dots. We hope to start working on it in December.
I went for my 24 week check up today. I gained 5 lbs. since my last visit, I am catching up since I was slow to gain weight in the beginning. Dr. Cantu says everything is looking good: blood pressure, weight gain, size, etc. The only negative part is my bladder. That thing has a mind of its own lately. I have been battling a UTI or some type of infection since my last visit. Let me tell you it is not fun. Luckily she gave me some medication. Apparently UTI's are common in pregnancy, but they are not good. They can cause early labor...we don't want that!!
Here is belly pick from 24 weeks. Not my best picture!! Shawn said, " Oh, this is a good picture." Uh, no! But either way it is the picture that I have. I really feel like my belly has finally "popped". Let me know what you think. This is my "tired-overworked-irritable-hungry-pregnant-teacher" look. You like? Oh, update on my school. I passed my comprehensive exam. All I have left is a presentation and to turn in a few things. I cannot wait for this to be OVER!!
