Max & Honey

Happy 4 months to Max!

Time is flying by so fast, it makes me want to cry just thinking about it. Max is getting so strong and more independent. He stays up for much longer and he gets fussy when he needs a nap. Usually rocking with mommy calms him down and puts him to sleep. I'm sure his nanny Barbara isn't going to be too happy with this when I go back to work!!
He has started eating some rice cereal and will have some veggies tomorrow (I will keep you posted!). He seems to like it. For the most part he just loves to eat!! The doctor says he should be getting about 3o oz. of breast milk or formula. He likes both, which is easy for me.
He is interested in his "bubba", Tyson. When he barks, Max always looks for him with his eyes. If Max is sleeping and is awakened by Tyson's bark he gets so scared he cries. BAD DOG!! Just kidding, Tyson is good, and hardly even comes near Max. I think the trouble will begin when Max gets more interested in Tyson and we'll have to keep HIM away from the dog.
He loves moving around and exploring his hands and feet. The doctor says when he wakes himself up at night from being a wiggle worm, I need to try and let him soothe himself. I think that will be much harder on me than on him!! We love him so much we can hardly stand it!!

Max's Stats
:
Height- 26 inches 75-90%
Weight- 14lbs 13 1/4 oz. (more than double his birth weight) 50%
Head Circumference- 43.7 cm (big melon!!!) 75-90%

GIGGLES

The summer has been great so far. We are enjoying the simple things in life. One thing that has brought us joy is our Max's laughter. In the past few weeks he has begun to laugh. We finally caught the giggles on tape. We love it so much we had to share. Hope you enjoy it! Love, The Terrals

I found my feet!

Shawn Maxwell is learning more and more everyday! In the past week he has definitely started laughing. He doesn't do it all the time, but when he does it is adorable!!! He has also begun exploring his hands and feet. He grabs his left foot the most. He also loves to put his fingers in his mouth!! He doesn't quite suck his thumb, but he almost gags himself sometimes. Other times he is quite content to just nibble on his fingers. All this biting makes me think he will be teething soon.

He is not sleeping through the night well anymore. Going back to work really messed up our schedule. Lately he wakes up between 2-3 a.m. and I bring him to bed with me. I hope to get him sleeping through the night by the end of summer. He is eating every 3-4 hours, still nursing. But I have a feeling that may not last too long because he is one hungry little guy!! I hope to get the okay from Dr. Nguyen to start cereal at his 4 month appointment!!

Country Visit

This past week was so enjoyable! Shawn has taken some time off from working so much and we have been having some good quality time together. We went to visit Richard & Suzy at their beautiful home in Robertson County while Shawn worked on a BBQ pit for my dad. He enjoyed some good time visiting with old friends and practicing his welding skills.
We were so spolied by our hosts! Fresh brewed coffee and breakfast every morning, I miss it already. It was so relaxing. Max and I caught a cold, which I though might cut our trip short, but it didn't. We got to see Rachel, Emily, Cy, Darren, Justin, Maritza, Dave, Mom, Dad & Uncle Alex. Great times

Birthday party in Vidor

This was a busy weekend. Shawn went to a company fishing trip to Matagorda Bay. I wasn't looking forward to a weekend alone with Max. Luckily, Rosie and the girls decided to come and visit and carpool to Nora Mae's 2nd birthday in Vidor. We were so happy to get to see Ollie and Tera and the girls.
We all packed up and hit the road. Thank goodness Rosie has such a spacious vehicle. The trip was long, but we had great conversation. It was nice because Penny and Max were kind of on the same feeding schedule. It made me feel like less of a burden (I often feel like that when I travel with a group). All the kids did a great job on the road and we enjoyed the quick visit to see the Ryan Family. Unfortunately we didn't get a good picture with them....maybe next time.

Max was a good ol' boy and only fussed when he was hungry. He was pretty sleepy most of the day. It was a nice and warm summer day!! It was so nice when Tera's mom brought out a quilt for the babies to enjoy.

Happy Birthday Daddy!

This weekend we celebrated Shawn & Justin's Birthday. We had a great time with the Terral/Pollard clan at Richard and Suzy's place. It was SO relaxing!!! I didn't take many pictures, but luckily Angela was in full "paparazzi" mode and took some great shots.

Daddy & Max

Who knew feeding a baby would be so fun?!?!

The Terral babies weren't really sure what to think of each other, but they sure were curious. We can't wait until they are old enough to enjoy each other!

My best friends forever...REALLY since we were 12!

The porch was awesome! It was so great to see Emily and Cy, it had been way too long. Look at Hector and his daughter Ayden enjoying the day.

This is what I call and urban cowboy!
