It won't be like this for long
Time sure flies by when you are having fun. We are so smitten with our son! He is the sweetest little boy parents could ask for. Shawn Maxwell is changing so much everyday. He is getting chubbier. He loves to nurse and drink from the bottle...bottom line he just LOVES to eat. He is also so long! Most of his clothing is very loose, but too short for his long body. The doctor thinks he will be a tall boy.

He smiles so much more. He is sleeping longer stretches at night..sometimes. When he doesn't we take naps until about 10 or 11 in the morning. During the day he has tummy time so he can develop his neck and shoulder muscles. He really doesn't like it, but we do at least once a day. He also loves his swing. He often falls asleep as he is swinging. We are enjoying every minute with our little man.
Here are some pictures from 4 weeks:

Cute hat Shawn Maxwell's abuela wanted him to have

2 weeks
This past week was defineitley a trying time. I think all of the adrenaline we had the first week finally faded and the tiredness started to settle in (for me anyway). Needless to say we made it through with help from my mom, Suzy and Emily. Thanks a billion!!

Smiling face or gas...you tell me
Max's 2 week appointment went well. His plastibell fell off and he healed wonderfully. His umbilical cord fell off on Monday, actually I may have given it a little tug on accident. Dr. Nguyen said it looked fine. He is gaining weight. At his 1 week he was 7 lbs. 1 oz., and today he was 7 lbs. 10 oz. I also had my appointment today and I can drive now!! Woohoo!! Auntie Emily took some cute pictures of Max while I saw the doctor.

He likes to make this frumpy face
Max is eating well, but I wanted to give Daddy the chance to feed his little man. This week I started pumping. Shawn gets to feed Max his evening feeding. He had no problem taking the bottle, in fact he drank it quickly (even with a slow flow nipple!!!). Right now it looks like he is eating about 2 oz. Here is a picture of Max's first feeding from Daddy.

1 Week
We have been home since Saturday. Our hospital experience was great. I was a bit scared to leave, but so glad we are home. Luckily my mother has been here helping out. We are very grateful.

Chillin'
Introducing Max to Tyson was nerve wracking, but it went way better than expected. Tyson sniffs every once in a while, but then leaves him alone.

Tyson doesn't seem to interested in Max...yet
This has been a complete learning experience! I have learned how to breastfeed, Max knows how to suckle, and Shawn is a master swaddler. Life without sleep is difficult, but we are managing. Shawn goes back to work tomorrow. I am nerv ous not to have him here, but I think everything will be fine. You know I will keep you posted! :)
