Amen for Sundays

The weather has finally turned around and we have been enjoying walks and play dates outside. Unfortunately Shawn has also been super busy with work, working weekends for the past 2 weeks. We have missed our family time, so this weekend we REALLY enjoyed our Sunday. I got to sleep in a bit while Shawn and Max had some cartoon time. Then I made some blueberry pancakes, which I thought were absolutely yummy. Max was unsure. He ate them and made a mess. Lots of fun! Later we worked outside a bit and enjoyed the day.

We went out for lunch at Carraba's which was delicious. Max had some lasagna, bread, carrots and potatoes. We are so glad he is well-behaved at restaurants. We try to keep him busy and we try to make our dinners early to avoid fussy time! Back at home, we all went to the park for Max to swing and Tyson to play fetch. Let's just say we got our quality family time. Daddy gave Max a bath and I put him to bed, he went right to sleep! He's been having some sleep issues, I think because the is cutting a top tooth. It seems to be coming in a little strange, but we'll ask the doctor at his 1 year appointment. Which reminds me that today he is 11 months!! I'll take his monthly pictures later.

Here is Max looking at Tyson. He is amazed with Tyson, although I don't think the feeling is mutual :(
Here is a video from him swinging at the park. Notice his legs kicking out of excitement!!

Little Moments

I love all the little moments that I have the privelege of sharing with my son. He is such a funny character. On the way home today he was making himself laugh for no reason. In the bath last night, he was cracking up at sticking his finger in the whole of one of his toys. I am so happy I was able to get that on video. His personality is really beginning to flourish. I look forward to seeing him grow up and keep on surprising me.

Here are some pictures I was able to take with Photo Booth on my Mac. Have I ever mentioned how much I love my MacBook? I do!!

10 months

Today I was rocking my baby and it dawned on me that my baby is almost a toddler! It brought a tear to my eye, a few actually. The thought that time has gone by so fast, one day he won't even want me to rock him, one day I won't be able to protect him from everything, etc. I am overwhelmed by emotion as I write this. He has truly been the greatest thing in our lives. A true miracle that we have been blessed with.
There are many things that I want to remember about him at this age. He now weighs about 23 pounds. He is too scared to stand alone, but he loves to cruise along holding on the tables, chairs, walls, you name it. He has 2 teeth, about halfway in, on the bottom. He is close to cutting a tooth on top. He has some allergy issues, and wheezing. Luckily we bought a nebulizer, and he gets treatments as needed. He is very attached to me, as I am to him. He loves his dog, although the feeling isn't always reciprocated. It's funny though, when Max is napping or in the car seat still, Tyson will get close to him. So darn cute! He get so excited when he plays, especially with his daddy. He has the cutest squeals, giggles and baby blabber I have ever heard. He runs away from sounds of the vacuum and the toilet flushing. He gets very scared when Tyson is barking at something non-stop. He likes to get people's attention, even strangers at the store. He has this adorable wave. When he is really excited he gets both hands waving. He likes to i-chat with Gammy and Grandpa (my parents, although we really haven't settled on a name for them). He loves it when my mom sings to him! He is constantly emptying things: linen closets, drawers, baskets, purses, etc. I could go on forever, but I won't! Suffice it to say that he changes and grows everyday, and we are lovin' every minute of it.
In other family news we are expecting our second baby. The due date is in mid- July. So excited that Max is going to have a little brother or sister. This was a longer blog than I intended, but if you are a loyal reader, you got the big news at the end. Until next time...

Merry X-mas

Christmas came and went, but we had a very low key Christmas at home. But before that we went to Bass Pro Shop to see Santa. Of course it was an epic FAIL because Max was terrified when I gave him to a strange man in a red suit!!

with Santa
We cooked finger foods and watched Christmas movies on Christmas Eve. Max enjoyed getting into everything in the kitchen. We have cabinet locks on most cabinets except a few. He loves getting into the Tupperware and the linens.

Our curious son!

We all took a long nap in front of the fireplace while watching movies. Very relaxing!

Max loved his books and toys!
