10 months, one week & 6 days old....but who's counting anyway?

Madeline Kristine brightens our lives! Somehow I missed her 10 month update so here goes. I was going through the picture from this month and it was so hard to pick just a few. Her personality is shining through more and more. She loves to babble and mama and da-yee (just like Max). She absolutely loves her brother and is trying her hardest to catch up to him. She is crawling fast! She is sanding on her own and loves cruising with push-toys and on furniture. Standing is new, at first she would only stand if she forgot about it, but I have caught her trying on her own and she is so proud. She is eating finger foods. She loves peas, carrots, green beans, cereal, goldfish, chex and french fries. Her favorite are strawberries. She takes about 3 bottles and day and only nurses in the morning. She is a squirmer so that will probably end soon. She loves the water. Her and Max love playing with the water table and getting soaked. I cannot believe how fast she is growing and its unbelievable that we are already thinking about her first birthday. Crazy!!
She LOVES playing with her hair and ripping out her bows. UGH, but I love this girl!
One of the few still pictures I got for her 10 month picture
Everyone says she looks just like me. I'll take that compliment because she is so beautiful!!
She rarely goes to other people, but she loves her Auntie Em! Great picture with her and Poppy.
Watching Max's every move
Splash time with the water table. She loves it!
At breakfast with Aunt Emily, she just stole the bacon off her plate and ate it up.

Maritza's graduation weekend

The summer heat is here and also the humid Houston weather. We've been keeping busy with playdates, lawn care, busy babies and trips to College Station. We first went to Aggieland to see Tia Maritza graduate from the Bush School at TAMU. It was so great to see her in her element with all of her colleagues. I've always been proud of my sister and it was extra special to see how loved and respected she is among her peers. I must admit I don't love sharing her time with her friends, but I am lucky to have her! have Shawn took Max to spend time at Honey and Poppy's house so I just had little bit with me. I was also glad to have Tia Nini with us. She is so good with kids and she keeps me entertained pretty well too! Madeline was good at first, just some squirming. But after a while we had to take a little walk to settle her down.
The pacifier helped at first
Love this girl!
Whose child is that? LOL

Elizabeth and Martiza -- 2 fabulous women that I love spending time with.
That evening we spent time with the Terrals. I love seeing Max and Isabel play together!

Keeping this mother busy

This past weekend we loaded up to visit Forth Worth and see our niece Laney receive her first holy communion. We loaded up the Expedition then headed to College Station to pick up Mema and drop Tyson off with Maritza. We had a good drive there with zero stops, just how I like it!! We stayed a Sheraton in downtown Fort Worth. It was really nice and Max loved the elevators and running down the halls. I took advantage of their fitness room to....well....work on my fitness.

Saturday we had breakfast with Aunt Amy and Jessica then we headed to Shawn's heaven-on-Earth, Cabela's. Jessica came with us and she was a big help. Max loved seeing all the dead animals, but Maddie was a little scared. I even got a new pair of boots. After this trip we headed back to the hotel to rest before mass.

Laney looked so cute in her dress. It was so sweet to see how excited these kids were to make this sacrament. I look forward to the day my little ones experience this too. Of course, Max didn't last in mass more than 30 minutes, so he and Shawn spent time outside. Maddie stayed with me. She was pretty quiet, but very wiggly. Afterward the De Leon's had a fabulous dinner at TCU. There were food, drinks, music and dancing. If my kids weren't on their last leg we would have stayed longer.

Easter Fun

This year was special because it was Madeline's first Easter and Max actually got the hang of the Easter egg hunt. We had 3 hunts in total. The first with our baby bootcamp playgroup, one at a church and one at my parents.

We made a family event of the Easter festival at Good Shepard UMC. They had an Easter Bunny and we patiently waited in line. However my kids wanted nothing to do with the bunny. So we took a family picture with the bunny and a friend snapped our picture. It was neat because they had a baby egg hunt and Maddie got to get some eggs filled with goldfish, crackers and cookies. She was so cute! On the other hand, Max's age group was full of kids. Never mind that Shawn gave him a lollipop, so he could of cared less about those eggs. All he wanted was his candy!
chew toy?
She even put a few in the basket
Max and his AMAZING lollipop!

Max loved getting to see the fire truck up close. My boys are so handsome!!

Max wasn't scared of the clown, but all he cared to tell the clown was that he had a lollipop!
Maddie was pooped!

The next day we took a day trip to College Station. We visited with Shawn's side of the family at his dad's house. It was so fun to see Max and Isabel playing outside. They were so cute. These two are only 9 months apart and I hope they get to have more moments like this!

Then we went to my parents for lunch and our last egg hunt. We had a houseful of family and lots of food. It was great to see everyone and catch up. The sisters too our annual photo and for the first time in a few years nobody was preggers. Rosie and I are usually busy in that department! Max and his cousin Penny searched for eggs at my parents. We kept the cascarones "head popping" to a minimum. The big kids had an egg hunt at Tia Rosalinda's back yard. After some more conversation it was time to head home. Max was out like a light before we got to hwy 6 and Maddie cried her eyes out the whole way to Cypress. Typical holiday for the family...whew!!
