Aggie Game Days!

You guys, I cannot believe it's been almost 2 months since my last blog. I'll blog about why later, lol. Here are some pictures of us during game days. We've loved wearing our maroon and white and cheering for the Aggies! Max yells " touchdown Johnny Manziel!"
This picture is after the Alabama game. Sad we lost, but it was a fun day!

The kids and I before Angela and I went to the season opener against Rice. Hot game, but so much fun!!

Extracurricular activities 2013

The past few weeks have seemed so busy, and they are about to get busier! Maddie started ballet this summer. She loves it!! So we are going to continue during the school year.
How cute is this?

Next we signed up for swim lessons. It's a two week program where they go EVERY DAY!! It's good, but it has been rough having it every day. They are going to miss two days this week because Max is also starting SOCCER. What was I thinking? Well, he asked to play soccer so what are you going to do?? He's excited though. He'll be having practice on Wednesdays and games on Saturdays. As long as it doesn't interfere with Aggie football we are good. :) Oh, and I start working at part time at their school. Whew, it hasn't even started and I'm exhausted!

Maddie's 3rd birthday/pachanga week!

Maddie entered this world 3 years ago, eight days before my birthday. Ever since then it's been party central every July. This year was probably the biggest birthday week ever because we had so much going on. We traveled to College Station for July 4 and stayed a few more days to have a pool party at Honey's house. We had pizza, cupcake cake, piƱata and lots of fun. It was simple and easy! This was just the beginning.

Since Claire is visiting from Hawaii we invited her to stay with us for a few days. The kids absolutely loved having her over. Her and Max played video games together and everything else. Another bonus for Maddie's birthday was that we got to spend it with Tia "Momitza". I loved having my sister here, move back to TEXAS already!!!

Notice the princess in her Tiara!

Daddy brought her donuts with sprinkles for her birthday breakfast.

We went to see Monsters University on her actual birthday and they were pretty excited an upcoming Disney movie!

I did it!!!

I brought sexy back!!!
Dec 2011 & 1.5 years later , July 2013
Wow, what a journey it's been! Through pregnancy and mommyhood I totally let myself go. About a year ago I took control of my eating and exercise and I'm proud of the results. I found zumba, a great workout partner, myfitnesspal and a personal trainer. This is the healthier and happier me. And about 3-4 sizes smaller!

Galveston island day trip

We decided to have a little stay-cation in Galveston. We decided to gor a little further down the beach towards Jamaica Beach so we could drive up. We had a nice little set up, our canopy, music, food, drinks. We gathered hermit crabs, sat in the ocean

Who knew digging in the sand would be so fun!?!?

Maddie was building a "castle" and decorating it with shells.
Maddie was so focused building her castle. She would build it up and then run back to the water to gather shells. Then she would scurry back over with her new found treasures. She carefully placed each of them where she wanted. I'd ask her what she was doing, building and she was so concentrated that she was ignoring me. Cutest thing, love this girl!!

Max in the water
Max enjoyed the sand a little, but he was loving the water. Even though Galveston doesn't have nice white sand and clear water, the kids loved it all. The waves were so fun for them. They would try to get "wiped out". Again, thankful for our puddle jumpers! We didn't get too far in, but with ocean it can knock you down unexpectedly.
Loving on Daddy!
Max and his muscles
Building a fortress, but the tide eventually got it. :(

We had a great trip. We left refreshed, relaxed and sunburned!!! We focused more on getting it on the kids than ourselves. We need to carefully apply sunscreen next time!

Father's Day Weekend

I have to first honor my sweet father who has always been there for me and now "us". I wouldn't say we've always agreed on things, but I love and respect him for all he is. He would do almost anything for my little family and I am so grateful for him and the love he shows us.
Me and my Dad, I'd say circa 1984

We had a pretty low key Father's Day weekend. Shawn kept the kids Saturday so I could do some things in Houston. When I got home it was so hot, the only thing that sounded like fun was the pool. Shawn wasn't up for it, so I loaded up with the kids(and puddle-jumpers) for some pool fun. We had a blast! I know the puddle-jumpers are a crutch, but its so nice to relax a little and let them explore. We stayed for a while and came home to a homemade dinner by Shawn.

Sunday we went to a delicious brunch at the Egg & I. Shawn got his usual, the flapper. The kids loved their whole wheat pancakes drenched in maple syrup---healthy right?? My greek frittata was amazing and cheesy! Shawn wanted to mow the lawn, so who I am to protest. I made a yummy Caldo de pollo for lunch (yes, I know it's hot). After that we went to meet one of the newest members of our family, Brain Kai. Seth and Jen had him last week. He was so sweet and tiny!! They are going to be great parents and I can't wait for our kids to play together!!

We had a great day as a family. I am so thankful for Shawn! He is a great dad and a loving husband. Never mind he's a cutie and can still make my heart skip a beat!
