Spaghetti Time & Teeth

Playing with the spaghetti (Don't worry I cut it up so he wouldn't choke!!)

Can you see my two bottom teeth!! They are cutting through and he has one on top ready to break through.

Happy Boy! He loved it better with marinara sauce cut up in little pieces.

He has recently discovered his hair. Its so cute, he just plays with it!!

What we're doing these days

Today I am blogging because I look at my son and I am so overwhelmed with love, fascination and pride. We love our little guy so much I want to remember every minute with him at this age.

Things he is doing lately:
  • drinking his formula from a sippy cup
  • eating small finger foods, his favorite is peas and carrots!
  • walking with assistance
  • "snapping" his fingers together
  • crawling and chasing after objects
  • pulling up on anything
  • opening cabinets - time for the cabinet safety locks
  • loves finding pens and holding on to them for a while
  • climbing on things
  • yelling "BA BA BA"
  • says mama when he wants something, dada when he is excited
  • clapping his hands or waving them both to show excitement
  • make a gurgling sound and he's pretty proud of it
  • snuggling with mommy an daddy

8 months!

You would think that being a staying at home would make me a better blogger, but no. My life isn't structured anymore. That's why this post is a little late. My baby is 8 months now!!! Some of the things he is doing:
  • wearing size 3 diapers
  • feeding himself finger foods
  • drinks from a sippy cup
  • fast crawler
  • crusing along his toys and furniture - occasional falls or even almost falls scare him
  • separation anxiety, although I think he has always had this!
  • his hair is getting thicker on top. It has a reddish tint in the sun
  • super sensitive skin, mosquito bites well up really bad
  • lovin' his pacifier still
  • drinking about 4 bottles a day
  • loves Tyson, always follows and giggles with him
  • tries to eat dog food
  • plays with doggy door
  • enjoys being in his walker
  • enjoyed his first visit to a park

Halloween Fun

Our day started slow. Daddy went to work in the morning and we had my Mom (Estela) and Maritza over. We made a big breakfast and Max loved his waffles! He is really enjoying feeding himself finger foods, like puff, Kix, peas, carrots, tortilla, waffle bites, bananas, avocados, etc. He is still a good eater! Although, it takes some enticing for him to finish all of his bottles.

We went the Halloween store and Walmart looking for some last things. We had lunch/dinner at our favorite Mexican restaurant, La Hacienda. Max loved the re-fried beans, guacamole and rice. Then we said goodbye to Mom & Maritza. The day had been so busy, Max really hadn't taken a good nap, so we had a power nap before the neighborhood carnival. Nothing too exciting, as Max is really too small to enjoy Moonwalks and such. I did get some yummy cotton candy though!!

Yes, Max was crying in the picture, but he got over it very quickly and was in a good mood the rest of the night. :)

Later we came home and following in tradition, Shawn pulled down the tailgate of the Ford and passed out candy(remember our crazy dog Tyson, he likes to bark and jump on visitors!!!). We did that for a while, then Mommy and Max went to the neighbors party. Max got to have some quick playtime with his buddy Jaxen. Busy day!! Happy Halloween!!
