Mother's Day Tea

One of the coolest things about having Max in MDO is that they have these little programs and I get to see him in a new way. I love seeing him stand in line and listen to his teachers. Then when he gets so excited to see me, I love it!They always compliment on what a good boy he is. They had a Mother's Day Tea this past week. All the moms sat in the chapel and the kids walked in line by class to leave a flower for the Virgin Mary. I thought I was recording it, but I didn't. Gotta love technology or the operator really!
Walking in, Max is towards the back of the line

Miss Maddie hung out with her friend Olivia. I don't think she even realized I was gone!

Cheese!

I have taken a picture of this pose of the kids a few times. Today as we were rushing out, Max insisted on a picture. They both said cheese and looked absolutely adorable.

And this is our weekend project, planting flowers!

April photo dump

I've been too distracted to blog lately, but the mamarazzi in me always takes pictures.

Running like a mother

So excited I think I finally found a great pair of shoes. Since I have terrible feet this is a big deal. They've been great do far and make me feel light as a feather in Zumba. I'll keep y'all posted on my fitness progress. So far, I'm down 5lbs, with about 20 more to go. Guess I better put down this oatmeal chocolate chip cookie, it's healthy though, right?!?

Easter 2012

We had a busy weekend celebrating Easter with the family this year. Maritza flew in on Thursday night. My parents were nice enough to watch the kids so we could go to dinner and movie before picking her up at midnight. We stayed up until 2am talking and catching up. I miss my sister, but I know she is doing great things in Minnesota. :)

Friday we had day of shopping planned. Unfortunately my kids had other plans for me, so I decided to stay home and have a fun day with daddy since Max was a little sick and Maddie was cranky.
Early Saturday morning we headed to College Station to my parents to visit with my parents and my Aunt Amy and Jessica. We prepped for the next party and visited at the house. I even left the kids so my sister and I could go grocery shopping. Let me tell you this was probably the highlight of the weekend for me. Browsing around, wine and cheese samples, visiting with my sister--it was great! Someone even asked if we were twins, it doesn't get much better than that! After we prepped the jalapeño poppers (de-veined jalapeños, stuffed with cream cheese, wrapped in bacon) for the grill we headed out to Suzy's. Shawn and the rest of the family was already there. The kids were happy to see the family, especially their cousin Isabel. Max brought his boots and was running all over the place. I wasn't thinking and only packed sandals for Maddie which was a big mistake. She hated the sand and dirt in her toes, the bugs were flying around her --she was not happy!

Once my parents showed up we were ready for lunch. The food was so good: brisket from C&J's, homemade potato salad, jalapeño popper, etc. We had a fun Easter Egg hunt in the front yard. The older kids had a scavenger hunt going too. At some point we all started in on the wine, whiskey and beer so the details are a little fuzzy, but there was an unusual game involving balls and pantyhose. We all had fun with it though. I didn't get any pictures, but my dad and Darren were the big winners!

The next day we had lunch over at David & Brenda's (to be continued)

Let the Easter fun begin

Daddy headed to Hamilton for the weekend with his new buddy (and Olivia's dad) so we had a fun night at our  house with the kids. We had Laura, Olivia (20 months), Eneyda, Colton (22 months) and Caleigh (4 months) join us for pizza and cupcakes. The kids had a ball and the moms got talk and relax. These nights in are really the way to go. Other than the kids taking each others sippy cups they were great. And we made "homemade" pizzas too. Pepperoni for the kids and margherita for the moms. Yummy!
Notice Max's knee. His first really bad skinned-knee from a fall outside the gym.
Saturday morning we headed out to our neighborhood Easter Festival and the kids had a GREAT time. We went with Jennifer and Jaxen and Laura and Olivia met us later. They boys just wanted to jump and slide on the bounce houses. It was hot and the sun was strong, but they didn't mind. There were hot dogs, chips, drinks and cotton candy! The boys were having so much fun jumping they missed the egg hunt, but Maddie and Olivia gave it a go....sort of. Maddie was ready until she saw the Easter bunny. She freaked out and started screaming and pulling away. I tried to make getting eggs seem so fun and cool but she was NOT having it. We only got a few eggs and most of them were filled with baby ruth candies. I was not going to chance giving Maddie anything with peanuts so they were upset all the way home. Thankfully, my parents came in to visit so when they saw them they forgot all about the candy!

And look, mommy finally got her hair done....ahh!
