Our purdy purdy is growing too fast! Can someone please slow down time? In the past few days she has started lunging forward and getting up on all fours. Crawling is just around the corner....scary. She is eating like a champ. She loves fruit mixed with her oatmeal, veggies, baby Mum-Mums and drinking water from her sippy cup. She is still mostly nursing, but I give her a bottle about once a day. She is fascinated by Max and Tyson. She is so eager to play with them. She likes watching cartoons with Max too. She is sleeping well in her crib. Most nights she goes down around 8pm and wakes up between 7 and 8. She still wakes up sometimes during the night. I usually just bring her with me, so she doesn't wake up Max. She is actually sleeping more than Max these days!! She is getting to be a little more vocal. She makes the "m" sound and squeals and coos. So sweet. Love my Maddie Cakes!!

Forecaster says...
This week was pretty uneventful. The forecast called for wind, rain, very cold weather and maybe snow on Friday. Max was finally not showing symptoms of being sick so I Monday we went to Little Gym, which Max loves. Of course this Monday when it came time to take off his socks we had a meltdown. All out, throwing himself on the floor, crying tantrums. Thank goodness Maddie was sleeping in her carrier (which she has almost outgrown!) so I was able to coax Max back into the play area with minimal embarrassment. After class we went to our favorite lunch spot, Chick-fil-a! After we went home and had naps we headed to the park to jog (me) and play (Max). I was really trying to squeeze lots of fun into one day.
Tuesday we had a play date at our house with Kristi, Logan, Carson, Jennifer and Jaxen. We had coffee and cake and the kids had lots of fun. I was so glad they came over because the cold front was blowing in. Wednesday I watched Jaxen for a few hours so Max had some fun playtime again.
By Thursday the meteorologist was forecasting 1-3 inches of snow in Cypress and College Station. This has happened before and we end up with no snow and CS had a winter wonderland. I decided I would not take the chance so I bundled up my kids for a trip to Abuelo and Mema's house on Thursday. It worked out and we even got to visit Tiffany, Isla and their newest addition Iselle. It was cold, but no snow. That night Maddie didn't sleep very well, but I was monitoring the snow, or he lack thereof. But luckily the next morning we had about 1 inch of snow. Max and I bundled up and went outside for the big reveal. We went to play with Elizabeth, Yovani and Cristian but Max wanted nothing to do with the snow. So I took a few pictures and we went back in. Max preferred to watch the "no"(snow) from inside!

Max got a gun
This has been a debate since we found out we were having a boy. Shawn has wanted to get him a gun. On our trip last weekend to Austin, we HAD to stop by Cabela's in Buda. I was missing my kids so much that I wanted to bring something home. It was actually my idea to get this "pop" style gun for Max. It took him a while to figure out exactly how to do it, but once he did, he loved it!

A reunion, a wedding and a great weekend away
11 years ago this summer I was blessed to have the opportunity to study abroad in Mexico City. It was one of the best times of my life. Not only did I get to live in the largest and one of the coolest cities in the world, I met 5 amazing women. We didn't bond immediately, but the bond has remained. In the past 1o years we have had several reunions, mostly at weddings. I was thrilled that Dianne had found her prince charming, Brina. Add to that I was even more excited that I'd see the girls again.
This was the first time I would leave both my babies overnight since they were born. The only time I had left Max was when I went to the hospital to deliver Madeline. The kids stayed with my parents at our house and they did a great job. They probably got spoiled a little bit, but I guess that's alright. Here are some pictures from our wonderful weekend in Austin.
The girls at Trudy's. The Mexican martinis are fabulous!!
The stunning bride and her handsome groom
I love weddings! They remind me of the vows we made almost 7 years ago, and I always get teary-eyed.

Family Night
Tonight we met up with our Moms group at The Backyard Grill. The food was good and the atmosphere was nice. There was even a cute clown with a real monkey. Max kept saying "monkey, monkey", but he didn't want to take a picture with it. Luckily there was a sandbox outside. I tried to take off Max's socks and shoes to limit the amount of sand in my new vehicle, but Max doesn't like the feel of sand on his feet. So we put them back on. He got sand everywhere. He even got a full bucket of it and poured it all over his jeans, nice!
Once, twice, third time is a charm!!
