Birthday, Baby Shower and Boogies!
This weekend took us back to when we were kids. We were in College Station for Claire's 8th birthday party and Monica's baby shower. Rosie planned a pajama party for Claire and Jaime even made menudo for the adults. I remembered when we were kids and Nini would only want the "bolitas", she's still the same. We were teasing Rosie, she didn't care, still the same. The best was seeing our kids play together outside. I never thought Rosie and I would have kids the same age, but it's so fun to see them being kids and we can sit back and reminisce.
Penny and Max wouldn't let go of the car, they both wanted in, but didn't want to share....remind you of anyone?

Trying for a photo op...not so much
Monica had a great shower and lots of cool things for Braiden. Both my kiddos had a cold and the cold room didn't help their runny noses. I always keep boogie wipes to clean up, but these were some serious boogies!! I didn't really get to enjoy myself like I usually do because Max was running around. Of course, I got lots of help with Madeline because everyone loves to hold my little princess. I was busy bribing Max with Candy and he ended up getting sick. Luckily Shawn came just in time to help me out!!

My princess
You think her bow is big enough?
So happy she loved the blanket we got her
Good Bull
I want my kids to go to Texas A&M like I did, Shawn says they can go wherever they want. Well it doesn't hurt to help them fall in love with all things Aggie at an early age. We were lucky enough to get to visit Tia Maritza at her office at the Bush school on Friday. All of her cohort buddies were gaga over the babies. Max was running around like crazy and Maddie was all smiles. Martiza's office mate, Emily, was so sweet to Max letting him color and she even displayed his "art" on their door.

My princess is 3 months!
Madeline is getting chunkier by the day and I love it! We love kissing and squeezing those chubby cheeks and thighs. She smiles often and especially when she hears the word, mama. She has started noticing her big brother and she gets a kick out of it. She coos and says "gooo". Her 0-3 month clothing are getting tight, but she isn't quite ready for her 6 month clothing yet. She has a closet full of things for the Fall & Winter thanks to her cousins Nora and Landry. She is wearing size 2 diapers, but I already ordered a box of size 3 because she'll need them any day now. She is such a sweetie! She is trying to roll over and is more interested in her toys. She is still mostly sleeping in our bed because she sleeps all night. In the crib, if she ever falls asleep, she is up at least twice a night. Hopefully by next month I'll update that she is in the crib, but no promises. She is holding her head up pretty well and she is turing into a litte wiggle worm.
Max joined in on the fun

Snuggles
Someone asked me if Max has ever held Maddie. I thought about it and I realized that I have never even tried it, in fact I generally try to keep him away. When he does I watch him like a hawk! Although I have to admit there has been the accidental kick, slap or poke--but she has survived them all, what a champ! So I decided I should try to ease into it, and this is the outcome. They both loved it. Maddie loves looking at her big brother, and he thinks its so fun to tickle her toes. In the mornings when he wakes up he calls for me. When I get Max from his crib he has always asked for Daddy or "dayi". Now he even asks for Maddie or "mayi". LOVE
Dewberry Farm
Keeping busy is what we do lately. We had a playdate to Dewberry Farm with the ladies from Baby Bootcamp. It was one of my first "big" outings with both kids. The double stroller came in so handy, but Max didn't want to stay in it for too long. I had him dressed in my favorite type of outfit, a john-john style overall. He looked so cute, I may be a little bias!! I dressed Maddie up too, but it got way to hot. I have the cutest outfits for her, but I have come to realize that nice comfy cotton clothes are my favorite to dress her in.
Max was shy with most of the activities. He refused to ride in the little train, which really surprised me. But, I think it just takes him a while to warm up to things. He enjoyed our picnic under the tent and seeing the farm animals. We only stayed about 2 hours, but I was so worn out after. I was sure he would take a long nap as soon as we got home. Not so much, barely 30 minutes!! That's okay though, Shawn went out and got us a new vehicle so we hit the road again to check out our new Expedition!! Pictures to follow later.
