All good things must come to an end :o(

Dog days of summer are officially over for us tomorrow. :o( Shawn starts his new job on Monday. I don't pretend to know too much about what he does, but I know it involves inspecting oil rigs in a rig up yard. He is looking forward to working with some of his old pals and meeting some new people. He'll be working long hours, but he's glad to get back to the grind.

I start teaching a new group of third graders tomorrow. I'm excited because this is a group that I taught Kindergarten during my first year at Andre'. I absolutely love my team, and my new partner. I missed them over the summer!

I miss Maxwell terribly throughout the day!! However, being away from him really makes me focus on our time together. I try to cherish every second when we are together. Television and my laptop have to wait until he's in bed. This year will be difficult, but I firmly believe in the famous quote "what doesn't kill you makes you stronger". We are so blessed to have the support of our family. Honey has even volunteered to care for Max for 2 weeks while we go through this transition.

It's been a great summer! We've laughed, played, cried and loved!! Can't wait for June 2010 already. Just kidding!!!

Splish splash I was taking a bath

We love bath time! Shawn and I usually take turns with bath time, but most of the time we are both in there because it is just so much fun watching our baby Shawn!
Today he was sitting up, assisted by me of course. I was splashing the water and trying to get the water cup and colorful toys. He was so cute!I could of let him play in there for a while I made me realize how big and smart he is getting. Makes me sad to think of how fast he is growing up, but I am excited to be on this journey. I cherish every minute with my beautiful boy!

Tyson

Just wanted to show some love to our wonderful dog Tyson. He has been so great during this transition and we love him just like a baby, well sort of. We always said we wouldn't be one of those couples who have a baby and ignore our dog. I think we've done a pretty good job, not the best but darn close. We love our Teeson-Weeson!!

Atami Dinner

We had a fun dinner at Atami in College Station. We love hibachi and sushi. Suzy and Richard had a chance to see both her grand babbies for dinner. Lisa and I spend most of the time tending to our little ones. Here is a sweet picture of the kids with Suzy. They were pretty curious of eachother, but I bet they will be playing before we know it.

Babies and Blessings

This weekend was very special. We wanted to baptize Max this summer and we finally did on July 26, 2009! We were so honored to have my sister Maritza and Shawn's brother Cy to accept to be Godparents. We know that Max will have the spiritual guidance he needs throughout his life from these two people.
We had been waiting for this day for a whille now. This was Max's big day and I wanted to make sure everything went smoothly. I knew it was going to be a hot day, but luckily Shawn was doing all the hard work to prepare for the luncheon afterward. I made sure to let Max has a LONG morning nap. We had a bottle right before we left for church and had planned on changing him there (spit happens, ya know!). As soon as we got to the church, later than planned, I was flustered. Wouldn't you know it as I went to change Max into his christening outfit, I smelled a poopy diaper. Luckily my saving grace, Emily, was there to help me out. After that situation we were on to the main event.
It was great to be back at St. Mary's Church for Shawn Maxwell to receive his first sacrament. It brought back many memories because I received the sacraments of Communion, Confirmation and Marriage at this Church. Shawn and I also baptized our beautiful goddaughter, Claire Elizabeth, there. On this special day Max was on great behavior. He didn't cry once (well at the church anyway).
To make this event even more of a family affair Maxwell was joined by his cousin Penny. We had lots of family to share in this joyous day with us. Of course, being such as special event I was a nervous wreck! I really need to work on just going with the flow and not sweating the small stuff. The most important thing is that Shawn is now part of the Catholic Church, which is something that was really important to us. We were glad to have the support of our wonderful family and friends. We love you all!!
