On the move...sort of

Max has always been active, even in the womb! This past weekend was very eventful. At my parents we noticed that while he was on his tummy, he was trying get up on his leg. He might have been trying to impress his Uncle Baldito, since he was there for a quick visit. We weren't able to get a video of that, but as soon as we got home and put him on his "Precious Planet" play gym he was at it again. Here is a video (disregard our talking please!) I've got to go start baby-proofing the house. Until next time...Team Terral

The BIG 29!

This weekend I celebrated my 29th birthday! All I wanted was to be home with my family and relax. We have been on the road so much, that I just missed lazy weekends at home. But my family was not about to let me be without them on my big day. Angela and Sebastian came to visit on Friday and we had fun. We had homemade Chinese food and lots of dessert! Saturday morning my parents came to visit (sans Martiza -- she was in NYC!!).

So on my BIG day, Max woke me up, he ate and the day began! Shawn made coffee and crumble cake. We hung out then we had an early lunch at Pappadeaux, my favorite! I had all my favorites and I even got sung to and had a slice of sweet potato pecan pie, whew! Max was a good boy, I took care of his dirty diaper before the food got to the table. Then we went to US Toy store, yeah it sounds boring, but it was fun. Sebastian and Angela acted like a couple of kids -- well Sebastian is a kid. Max loved so many of the toys, and he even got one. And I was loving all the teacher stuff.

Late we went swimming, Mom watched Max for us. Then we had more company, Amon, Vanessa and Shawn's friend Ian. We made so much food. Shawn cooked out. Angela made some fabulous squash. We had a fabulous chocolate cake! I even tried to make mojitos -- epic fail!!! I will do better next time! All in all we had a great time. Here is hoping this year is full of health, love, surprises and tons of family time! Till next time...Team Terral

Big Eater

Oh, oh here is he comes. Watch out food he'll chew you up! Oh, oh here is he comes. He's a big eater! If you love 80's music, then you might recognize my creative changes to the 80's hit.

Still nursing and supplementing with formula was what I had been doing, but our little man seemed ready for food. He was sitting up with help and literally grabbing at everything when we ate. After our 4 month appointment, Dr. Nguyen thought Max's appetite was very healthy and she gave us the go-ahead to start with solids.
We started with rice cereal....he liked it. We tried sweet potatoes....he loved it. Carrots, squash, bananas, oatmeal cereal...liked it. With all these solids, I think his digestive system was a bit overwhelmed. Without being too gross, lets just say, prunes came next. Whew...what a relief. HE LOVES PRUNES, and thank goodness because they help his little tummy digest food.
His little face has started to fill out so much since he has been eating solids. He usually enjoys eating the food, he thinks its fun. One problem we have encountered is that he loves to blow bubbles, and kind of spit. Well, when he eats and gets excited he likes to do the same thing. So we have to be careful, or we'll end up with a face full of food!
Till next time.... Team Terral signing off!

Extra weekend fun

We spent some extra time in College Station and we got to hang out with Uncle Cy, Auntie Em and cousin Rachel. Here are some of the pictures.

Mama's don't let your babies grow up to be cowboys...Easier said than done! Here is Max with Uncle Cy.

Auntie Em had some cool toys for Max to play with. She had him sitting up, grabbing for toys and rolling over. He really wanted to impress her with how much he has grown.

First Night Away...

This day had been a long time coming, a night away from Max....sort of. We had been planning to go to Ashlee & Jesse Wright's wedding. The day finally came and we brought Max along to the ceremony. They were married at the A&M Methodist Church in Northgate. At the beginning of the ceremony they rang the wedding bells. MAX WOKE RIGHT UP!!

Shawn and I had already discussed if this happened he would go out with Max. He fed him the bottle, but he missed a beautiful ceremony. It was short, sweet and funny. Only those two would have a funny wedding. Well after the ceremony we drove out to Honey's (Shawn's mom) to leave Shawn. The good part was that the reception was just down the road, so we weren't too far. Max did great! He slept all night and was ready for mommy at 6 am sharp, luckily after he ate he napped until 9, :o)

First Swim

We went on our first swim today! I was weary of letting Max get in a public pool because of chlorine. I was also scared to take him to fresh water. Plus, I am so scared of him getting a sunburn. What can I say other than I am just a paranoid new mom. I just figured we would wait until next year when he is a little bigger. However, we were invited to a friend's house to go swimming in their saltwater pool. I figured: not public, no chlorine, and it was the evening time. It worked for me!

Well Max absolutely loved it! Shawn and I loved it! We were able to do something we enjoy with our son. We used a regular diaper -- duh it got so overloaded that it started to fall off. We were scared he would poo in the water! Well, we took off his britches and he loved being in his birthday suit the rest of the time. Can't wait for more chances in the pool.
