Halloween 2011

We had an unconventional Halloween this year. Poppy was taken to the hospital because he was having trouble breathing. He was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer this past Summer and he's had complications this past month with his treatment. We decided to hit the road to go and visit with him on Halloween afternoon. The kids weren't able to see him since he is in ICU and on top of that both kids have had colds since the beginning of October. That being said we had a short, but good visit. It was good to see Richard and we are praying for him everyday.

After we left the hospital all the family got together for a dinner at Tony Roma's. Again, my kids were in rare form. Maddie was being wild as ever and only settled down a few time. Nevertheless it was nice to visit with everyone, but we were ready to go to do some trick-or-treating. Max was a cowboy(because he refused any other costume). He looked so cute! We went to Shenandoah in College Station with the Terral brother's and their families. We hit 2 streets and we got a lot of candy. Max was sweet and said trick-or-treat and thank 'um (thank you) every time. We went kind of late so most people were trying to get rid of their candy. A few told Max to take more, so he helped himself. Then he thought he should do that at EVERY house. Most people just thought he was so cute, the didn't even flinch. :)

Maddie also had a medieval princess costume, but she was so mad wearing it. So we dressed her up in black and white. Of course she ripped her shoes off, had a runny nose and was a mess because she had a lollipop. I swore I would never let my baby girl go out like that, but what can I say...you do what you gotta do. She was carried most of the time, but she did pick a few more lollipops for herself.  All in all, we had a good time. We got home, but the kids went right to bed. Happy Halloween!!
A few pictures of the kids in their skeleton hoodies. :)
